  • · Towing range hit is brutal like all electric trucks — 50% loss with a serious trailer
  • · Bed size is smaller than F-150 Lightning's — payload capacity is less impressive
  • · Service network has real geographic gaps
  • · The Rivian charging network is still building out — not yet at Tesla Supercharger ubiquity

Context

Direct competitor to the F-150 Lightning, Cybertruck, and Silverado EV — and for many buyers, the most thoughtful of the four. The Dual-Motor Standard pack is the value play; the Quad-Motor with the Max Pack is the no-compromise flex. Rivian opening the R1T to commercial fleet sales (Amazon delivery vans share a platform) has helped scale production and service.
